This means there is an installation running in the background, it could be a windows update still installing, something you got for your computer that's still installing or it could be anything else still installing. If you can't find the installation that's running try checking the Task Manager for running installation processes or if that doesn't work try restarting your computer. Hope this helps.
You'll probably need to turn it of with the power switch, then power it back up with a bootable CD or floppy. Try it with the Windows CD. It should be bootable, and it may even detect the previous failed installation and be able to correct it. If not, it should enable you to format the drive and start over. If it fails a second time, you'll be into a little torubleshooting to see what's going wrong.
when you first try to install, it will tell you that the system is inadequate or something, just click ok. after the failed installation windows should pop up with a dialog asking if you would like to reinstall the application with the recommended settings, click "reinstall with recommended settings" and the game should install normally.
Our experience of recovering the data from failed Raid Systems is unparalleled. We recover data from failed RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5 systems regardless of configuration or manufacturer. We also recover data that has been rendered inaccessible as the result of a rebuild failure.
Airplanes have broken up in flight after the windows failed.
Blue Screen errors occur when: Windows detects an error it cannot recover from. Windows detects that critical OS data has become corrupted. Windows detects that hardware has failed. If we are to talk an average of what causes these errors , here are some facts 5-20% of these errors are actually caused by the OS. 10% are hardware related. 70% are the result of faulty drivers or software incompatibility.

I tried it once but it failed to copy some os files. You should try it ,it may work for you if not upgrade to windows 2000 first. After you upgrade to windows 2000 then you can probably upgrade to windows xp from 2000
