Well there's only 2 ports on the back of the Xbox for wireless adapters to connect to. There is a USB port and an ethernet port. The only USB port that can connect is the official Microsoft Wireless adapter. All other adapters like PCI and PCMCIA will not even physically connect. The only wireless adapter that can connect to the ethernet port are wireless range extenders that can be configured as bridges. This is way complicated than what most people know how to do.
There is a much easier way to connect your Xbox. You can buy a powerline kit in a 2 pack. The bottom link below will show you what you can buy:

One guy who gave this a bad rating is trying to stream Blue Ray media to other devices on his network. This is not designed for that. It cannot handle streaming HD. It's plenty fast enough for your Xbox. Be sure to read the reviews.
It allows you to connect to xbox live on a wireless network
Xbox Wireless Network Adapter MN740
The Xbox 360 Wireless adapter uses standard 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11a connections. If your Mac has an AirPort wireless network card it will be able to connect to the Xbox network.
The adapter connects you to Xbox Live but only if you have a wireless network and if you have a Xbox Live subscription.
An ethernet cord to connect the XBox to a router or the wireless adapter for XBox to connect to your wireless router.
An Xbox 360 wireless network adapter costs around $59.16 from websites such as Amazon. The adaptor allows players to connect their Xbox to their routers wirelessly.
Why did you buy the wireless adapter if you use the Ethernet port? Just plug it in from your router to your (I call it) Crapbox360 and your done! Hope this helps.
You cant connect to Xbox Live through your PC. You will need to connect straight into your modem, or either use a Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless adapter to connect through your wireless network.
It will if you buy the 100 dollar wireless adapter.
You need an Xbox wireless adapter.
Wireless technology can be accessed from a variety of devices such as your Xbox 360 system. However, before you attempt to connect to your neighbor's system it is important to get their permission.
Sadly no. It's not compatible with windows. If you have the receipt and box I would return it, go to GameStop and buy a wireless network adapter there. I hope this helped you
