The proper way to flute liquor on top of a drink is to tilt slightly and use the counting rule to measure out how much liquor depending on the patron's preference. You do not want to just splash the liquor into the drink but rather pour with precision.
It is not necessary to own a bar tool set in order to make mixed drinks. As long as you know the recipes for the drinks you want to make, you can use normal kitchen appliances and dishes to make your drink.
If a single malt is to be fully appreciated it should not be served with water, ice or soft drinks. If soft drinks are mixed in, then there is no reason to use an expensive single malt. Any cheap blend will do.

You can sip it or combine it with other ingredients to make very special drinks. I use it for my key lime pie shooters. No other Vanilla liquor tastes as good.

Certain liquors can be used to cook with to make sauces and gravies. Otherwise it's good for drinking neat, on the rocks, mixed, as recommended by your bartender or the distiller/vintner/brewer that made it.

Ethanol is safe to use with rubber gaskets, methanol isn't. Ethanol is mixed with the gasoline you purchase from your local gas station. I'd refrain from using a 100% mixture, though. Interestingly, 100% ethanol is available on the liquor store shelf- Everclear. I'd save it for tasty drinks though, as it would be too expensive to fill your car with, and your engine wouldn't run very well.
