It really depends on how the battery is damaged. Generally, you cannot use a damaged battery for the following reason: Batteries contain lead and liquid acid. If the battery case is damaged, acid will spill from the affected cells of the battery and those cells will not function. Since the cells of a lead acid battery are connected in series, failure of any one cell means failure of the entire battery.
If the damage is limited to the battery posts, the battery can sometimes be made to work by various means of tightening the cable clamps to the posts. This is a temporary fix that can be used in a pinch and it should be repaired properly as soon as possible.
No. You don't use a damaged battery because, it will malfunction and may explode.
Yes if the alternator is overcharging the battery.
no
Yes, the battery will be ruined.
The car was damaged beyond repair.
If you are referring to a Deville, you need a specialized vented battery. That I believe is 14-15 volts. Dont use anything other than this specific battery. I have seen damaged caddys because of it.
No! I can't use.
It depends why it doesn't work. If it is just flat, then usually you can. If the battery has been damaged then maybe not.
Yes, if the cables are damaged, excessively corroded, or not fastened correctly that can cause your car to not start.
id depends on the size of the car and if the battery will fit in the car
Does you car starts??? if no that means your battery doesnt have enough adequate power...there are 2 things... your battery maybe damaged or your alternator is damaged causing not charging up the battery..but if your car starts..try to reset your computer by unplugging the negative battery then turn the ignition on for 20 seconds then plug the negative battery back..now check if you still have the battery lights on..cheers..
As long as both batteries are the same voltage, you can jump start with the battery. If you want to charge the battery then use a battery charger.
