Yes, they are essentially interchangeable for moisturising purposes (although hand creams tend to be slightly thicker). You can also use body lotion as hand cream. Also, hair conditioner makes an amazing shaving gel (found that out one day whilst desperate for smooth legs. Works incredibly well!)
