That is more for healing bacterial / fungal infections, it won't do much to help heal herpes. If the sore is on or aroun the mouth you probably shouldn't use creams like that. The best thing to treat herpes with is over the counter cold sore creams like Abreva.

∙ 11y agoMemesasone furoate cream is a corticalsteriod cream which is used to help treat allergic reaction. It may not do much for cold sores or possibly even aggravate the break out.
If the cold sore is around your mouth then you shouldn't use it as it could be toxic.
The best thing to treat cold sores with is Abreva or similar topical ointments and apply one of them regularly to the sores.

Yes, but I would not use anything that wasn't prescribed to your child directly from a doctor. I was just prescribed that for my 21 month old daughter who has experienced her very first diaper rash, that won't go away despite the usage of various other OTC creams. She was prescribed 0.1 mg used twice daily for 5-7 days. Since it is not an infection and she isn't using an antibiotic and the cream is just to help get rid of the rash, I will only use it until the rash is gone. Hope this answers your question.
