If you are talking about DS games then you can, but the graphics will be blurry, so that makes DS games not worth buying if you have a Nintendo 3DS (and there are way more good DS games than 3DS games, so I would buy a DSi or a DSi XL or even a DS lite instead of a 3DS (well, maybe not a DSi XL because it not that portable and it can't fit in your pocket and it comes with a few pre-installed programs that aren't that good (photo clock, for example), and maybe not a DS lite because I don't have any GBA games and I don't really want any, and the DSi has way more cool programs than the DS lite besides the GBA slot, so I'd get the DSi!)
