Yes. Clean the chamber after shooting shorts- you may have a ring of carbon that builds up, and can make loading a long difficult.
this rifle should be marked .22S,.22L,and .22LR.
the gun fires either 22 shorts , 22 longs or 22 long rifle bullets
Fairly scarce, and out of production, I have only seen one- in caliber .22 Long rifle. The barrel should be marked with the caliber- as in .22 LR. However, a bolt action single shot will normally also be capable of firing .22 Shorts, Longs, or CB caps- but NOT .22 magnum.
Yes
Depends on if you are loading shorts, longs or long rifles.
Not sure of your question, but a firearm chambered for .22 shorts will not chamber .22 Longs, nor .22 Long rifle cartridges.
Correct term is cartridges, not bullets. The 550-1 can fire Shorts, Longs, or Long Rifle cartridges. They are different lengths, so the capacity varies. It will hold 15 LR, 17 Longs, or 21 Shorts.

I want to know what the Utica marksman is also. I do know it is not long rifle. Will shoot shorts and longs.
Your rifle is a Marlin Mdl 100, made for Sears under the Sear brand name. It was chambered in 22 LR, (and can also use .22 Longs and .22 Shorts) Caliber is generally marked on the barrel. It is prudent to have our rifle checked by a gunsmith before shooting for safety's sake.
Yes it will as well as 22 short and long rifle, but the rifle will only shoot the 22 LR shells as a Semi auto and the shorts and longs you will have to manually cycle the gun by hand
The 550-1 is a semi auto .22 rifle made by Remington. It is unusual in that it can shoot shorts, longs, or long rifle cartridges. Value can range from $100-150, depending on condition.
