The only characters you do unlock is the ones in the Mercenaries. You automatically start with Leon. Use Leon and pick a place to go. Go to the village and get at least a 4 star ranking. You will unlock Ada. Go to the castle, get a 4 star ranking and you get Krauser. Go to the Island (the one that is during sunset), get a 4 star ranking and you get HUNK. Go to the 2nd Island, get a 4 star ranking and you get Wesker. You can only use these characters in the Mercenaries, that's it. However, if you have the PlayStation 2 or Wii version of Resident Evil 4 then you get to unlock a new scenario to play. It is called Separate Ways. This is Ada's story in how she came into the scene. You will also get to see her contacts with Wesker, who is Behind the Scenes, scheming to rebuild Umbrella for himself and use it to gain power.
