Should you mulch or remove grass when cutting?

Mulching the grass can double as a fertilizer.

Can you change from regular mower blade to mulching mower blade?

yes A regular blade is typically sharpened only near the end with a bend at the tip to increase the airflow. A mulching blade is sharpened from the end towards the middle and has multiple cutting angles which aid in cutting the grass multiple times into smaller pieces. The better mulchers also include a discharge plug which forces the grass to be cut into fine particles. When changing blades always make sure the length is the same and that the mounting holes match the original.

Is it bad to leave lawn clippings on you're grass your husband and you argue over this all the time?

I actually leave the clippings, but I have a mulching blade on my mower which cuts up the grass a little finer that non-mulching blades. If you have a mulching blade and leave the grass cuttings they just decompose but if not and you leave too much, it could cause some issues, more thatch, etc.

What is the definition of mulching?

It means fine cutting a plant like grass so it can be used as compost.

Is a mulching kit necessary for a lawn tractor?

A mulching blade on a lawn mower shreds the grass so that it can easily decompose right on the lawn and nourish the lawn. They say using a mulching blade all mowing season allows you to skip one fertilizer feeding. I've never understood why people prefer to bag up the grass and send it to a landfill. Maybe they don't like dealing with the bits of grass left in the lawn.

Can you put mulching blades on any mower?

What is the difference between normal mower blades and mulching mower blades?

Regular blades cut the grass and bag it directly into the bag. Mulching blades make the grass stay in the deck for longer and makes the grass fall into the blade several times. Thus it chops it finer and some falls back into the grass.

Do they reccommend mulching lawns and how much?

When they recommend mulching lawns, what is usually meant is using a mulching lawn mower. The grass clippings break down and feed the existing grass. The more often the lawn is fed, mulch, the better it will be.

After changing the lawn mower blade on a Yard King with a universal mulcher blade - it doesn't cut the grass as well leaving strands of uncut grass Why is this?

If it is a multi blade unit check to see if the blades are the correct size, otherwise when mulching the machine is cutting and recutting the grass inside the deck, the grass must be cut often and it must be dry. Either of these conditions will cause too much grass to be inside the deck slowing down the mower and lessening its ability to cut. Traction speed must be also slow. You can probably hear rumbling noises in the deck along with the engine slowing down and when you lift the deck up wet grass will spit out. As a trade for not bagging clippings you will need to slow way down, cut often enough that you are cutting less each time, never cut when the grass is wet. The first thing i would do is to confirm proper/correct blade installation. If the blade is upside down it will cutwith the back side of the blade (not sharp). With the blade in place and the spark plug disconnected, gentle pull the starter handle with only enough force to cause the blade to turn slightly. Is the blade's sharp edge the leading edge. If not then remove turn the blade over and try it again. I have done this my self when i was in a hurry hope it helps.

The center blade of your mower deck often lays the grass over rather than cutting it What are some of the causes for this?

the most common cause is a dull blade, resharpening / replacing the blade should solve this.

What is the part that covers the hole where the grass comes out of the mower?

Mulching plug.

Why does my simplicity riding lawn mower slows down when cutting grass. The grass builds up at the discharge.?

blade needs sharpening,or belt is slipping for mower deck.
