The number of electrons are always equal to the number of protons to keep the atom's charge neutral (unless your dealing with ions). And the number of protons in an atom are it's atomic number. So essentially, the number of electrons is the atomic number.

How do you find the number of electrons in element?

The Atomic Number of the element is equal to the number of electrons. Also, the number of protons is also equal to the Atomic number; so the number of protons and electrons in any given element is the same!

How can you use the periodic table to find the amount of protons and electrons for an element?

The atomic number of an element is the number of protons in the nuclei of its atoms, and the elements are arranged according to their atomic numbers from 1 to 118. A neutral atom has the same number of electrons as protons.

Can you use the atomic number and atomic mass to calculate the number of each subatomic particle?

atomic number = number of protons = number of electrons atomic mass = mass of protons + mass of neutrons

How you can use the atoms mass number and atomic number to determine the number of protons electrons and neutrons in the atom?

The numbers of protons and of electrons in an atom are both the same as the atomic number, and the difference between the mass number and the atomic number is the number of neutrons in the atom.

How do you find how many protons electrons and neutrons are in an atom?

The amount of protons is the same as the Atomic Number of the atom. Also the same goes for the amount of electrons. The number of neutrons in an atom would be the atomic mass minus the number of protons, neutrons, or atomic number. (it doesn't matter which of the three you use because they are all the same number) For example Titanium has an atomic number of 22, protons 22, and electrons 22. The atomic mass is 47, so to find the amount of neutrons you would take the atomic mass (47) minus the atomic number, protons, or electrons (22). So this would be your equation... Atomic mass - electrons (or whichever you choose) equals number of neutrons. So-> 47-22=25 neutrons.

What is the equation use to find the amount of electrons are in fluorine?

The atomic number of an element tells you how many electrons there are and how many protons there are.

How would you use the Periodic Table to find out how many electrons are in a chlorine atom?

Look at the atomic number. That is the number of protons. Assuming a non-ionic form of Chlorine, that is also the number of electrons.

How do you find the protons and electrons?

To find the number of protons, you use the atomic number. The atomic number is always the same number of protons. To find the average number of neutrons, you use the atomic mass and take away the number of protons. For example Oxygen has an atomic number of 8 and an atomic mass of 16.01, so since it has an atomic number of 8, it always has 8 protons, and since oxygen has a mass of 16.01, it has an average of 8.01 neutrons (the math: 16.01 mass-8 protons=8.01 neutrons). If your dealing with isotopes, you round the mass number. The mainest isotope is 8 neutrons in oxygen, but there is a few oxygen atoms that have 9 neutrons which is why the average mass is little higher than 16.

What is the amount of electrons in potassum?

Use the Periodic Table to get Atomic number (19), and atomic mass (39.1). The atomic number is the number of protons, and in the neutral atom, also the number of electrons: 19. The atomic mass is the sum of the mass of the protons and neutrons, 39.1. Subtract the number of protons (use integers) from the atomic mass, 39 - 19 = 20, which is the number of neutrons. Protons = 19 Neutrons = 20 Electrons = 19

How you can use an atomss mass number and atomic number to determine the number of protons electrons and neutrons in the atom?

number of protons and electrons present in an element is equal to the atomic number of that element while number of neutrons is equal to mass number - atomic number/number of protons/number of electrons.

How do you get the answer of number of protons?

Number of protons = Number of electrons =Atomic number of an element The number of protons is identical for all the isotopes of an element.
