I use vinegar and water. Most white vinegar is only 5% acid so there is literally no way it can hurt anything. I have never heard of a legitimate reason for not using any concentration of vinegar. Descaler works better though if you have some available. I think lemon juice is a stronger acid than vinegar so if vinegar can hurt a coffee machine, the coffee machine is of very poor construction.
Yes, I use apple cider vinegar frequently to descale my Viking. The leftover taste is a bit more difficult to remove than with white vinegar, but an extra tank of water run through usually does the trick. The mechanics of the Keurig and most other coffee makers are all the same: water tank, heating element, heating pipes/hoses, etc. The obvious difference being the small containers that the coffee is held in, but everything that would make a difference, is still the same in your machine. The usual methods will work just fine.
Use vinegar in the water and brew a cup.
I would suggest to use the Descaling solution from Keurig, worked wonders with my brewer. Brewers should be descaled every 6 to 8 months. I bought the solution on their website, I am not sure if they carry it at other locations/retailers. http://search.keurig.ca/coffee/Descaling Keurig provides you instructions and ways to descale & clean your brew.
Yes, you can use vinegar to clean bricks. Vinegar is commonly used to gently clean bricks and restore them to original condition.

To clean it, but you don't want to breathe vinegar vapor.
Generally it is best to mix 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water, but you can use more vinegar for better cleaning power. I generally use straight vinegar to clean bathrooms, kitchen counters and when I clean the dishwasher every month, but for general cleaning I have a spray bottle of half water have vinegar and it usually does the trick.

To clean vinegar out of a cat's eyes use the same precautions as a human would by flushing the eyes with water.
