On rare occasions people, including myself, have thrown up from smoking marijuana but it isn't anything severe. Sometimes it happens from coughing too much when you take a big hit, but usually it's just if the person has a low tolerance to marijuana. Again, vomiting usually doesn't happen as a result of smoking marijuana.

Generally, marijuana suppresses the urge to vomit, which is why it is used for cancer patients who are taking chemotherapy. No, it does not cause diarrhea. This was alleged during the congressional hearings for the Marihuana Tax Act in 1937, but it is not true.

∙ 10y agoOn rare occasions first time smokers may throw up once because their body is unfamiliar with weed. The only other time it can cause vomiting is if a coughing fit causes you to gag and your gag reflex is sensitive enough that you throw up.
