Depending on the severity of the fracture you might be able to walk on it. However, usually an avulsion means that their is a part of the bone and a muscle in pain. Therefore, it would be best if the first couple of days you took it easy, depending on your doctor's orders, and then try and walk on your own time or by the help of physical therapy that you will eventually need.
A fracture
An avulsion fracture is when you pull a ligament or tendon from a bone and a piece of that bone comes with it. It is not actually a "fracture". A fracture is a break.
fracture involving the presence of an isolated bone fragment. This is also frequently called an avulsion fracture.

avulsion
An Avulsion fracture usually only needs the treatment of resting and icing the fracture followed by exercising and stretching the tendon. Surgery might be needed if the bone fragment and main bone are too far apart to heal naturally.
A Jones fracture is a fracture of the 5th metatarsal of the foot. It is often mistaken for a Dancer's fracture (avulsion of bone off base of 5th metatarsal).
I think so. Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An avulsion fracture is when the bony attachment of a muscle (via the tendon) cracks the bone such that the end of the tendon is dangling with the piece of bone where it was attached. In other words, its like when you peel tape off the wall and the paint comes with it. The cuboid is one of the "tarsal" bones that shape the center of your foot. However, since no tendons attach to it ,an avulsion of the cuboid would involve a piece torn off of it by one of its ligaments.
You can eventually get an avulsion fracture or separation of the ischial tuberosity or apophysis.
An avulsion fracture is the term meaning tearing a bone.
