yes you can. all you have to do:

1) Know your fabric and your garment. Some things just shouldn't be washed, even by hand. For instance, your lined wool skirt will likely come out of any wet wash process with a problem: the lining is going to be a different size than the skirt. For reasons known only to the fabric industry, some synthetic fabrics grow when they get wet. And some woolens will shrink to a ghost of their former size if they get soaked. Be careful. On the other hand, many a silk blouse does just fine when hand-washed

2) Fill a sink or wash tub with cool water. Add a small amount of dish-washing liquid to the water (Dove™ and Ivory™ seem to work quite well, and some people recommend Dawn™). Select 1 garment to wash at a time; many dry-clean-only fabrics have not been prepared for a bath and they will almost certainly fade.

3) Allow the garment to soak. Especially with woolen goods, it is better to avoid swishing and rubbing. When your garment is sufficiently clean, remove it from the wash water, fill the sink with clean cool water and rinse. Repeat the rinse until you are confident that the garment is free of grungy wash water.

4) Always air-dry the garment. Roll it in a towel to remove excess water. You can hang woven goods (things that don't stretch), but knit items like sweaters must be dried flat. If you are going to make a practice of washing your dry-clean clothing, purchase a good drying rack.

No, you should never machine-wash anything labeled dry clean ONLY. If the garment was labeled dry clean, without the only, then you can machine wash it, but it would be a safer bet to go with dry cleaning.

Also, check to see if the suit is 100% polyester, because polyester is an easy to care for fabric, so it should be able to withstand machine washing in warm water and a lowtemperature permanent press cycle for drying.

Remember to immediately remove your garment from the washer after washing and put it into the dryer, and immediately remove it from the dryer and lay it out carefully to avoid making unwanted creases. Also, if it's a suit, remember to button all the buttons and to turn the suit inside out to wash it.

That's it for washing anything 70%-100% polyester, and I've tried it with my polyester suits before. Remember that caring for articles of clothing are different with garment, but this should work well for you. Good luck!

In general, if something says dry clean only, it means it shouldn't be washed. You can ignore the advice and wash it anyway, but you may damage it.

NO!!!!! Dry clean only if you want to perserve the quality of the suit. I would also hope that whatever color your suit is...you have another suit of that color so you aren't constantly taking it into the cleaners which over time wears on the material.

Can you hand wash a 100 percent viscose shirt?

if the care label says you can wash it you can. if it says dry clean only then don't wash it or it could fade or shrink. if you do hand wash it don't put it in the dryer, let it air dry and if you need to get wrinkles out be very careful because if the iron is too hot it will melt your shirt. viscose is a type of polyester.
