I lost my job and have submitted papers to withdraw my pension contributions. I will receive a check with me as the payee. Will this affect my eligibility for unemployment benefits in California? If it would, could I correct that by rolling it into an IRA with the 60 days allowed before having to claim it as income, per California tax law?
No. They are independent and separate programs.
if you make 1200.00 a month take home what would you receive in unemployment benefits in California
Sure you can, but your unemployment benefits will be clawed back. It will also negatively affect your total taxes.
No. California is still the "liable state" responsible for paying your benefits. However, you can continue to receive those benefits if you comply with California's requirements for getting those benefits when you move out of state. Contact California's office of employment security for information.
In most states, California included, you can receive unemployment benefits while still receiving your full Social Security benefits.
No. You cannot receive unemployment benefits and retire also. To receive them you must be actively seeking full time employment
If you are already receiving social security and are fired can you receive unemployment benefits?
No. You receive unemployment BECAUSE you have no job.
They don't affect each other. Florida repealed its statutes allowing unemployment compensation to be offset (reduced) by Social Security benefits. If you qualify for both unemployment and Social Security, you will receive your full check under each program.
