The legal age to get a professional body piercing in NY is 16 years of age without a parent or guardian, you just need a proper form of I.D. such as a drivers license or a state I.D. with a picture and birth date. If you are younger than 16 you can still get a body piercing but you do need a parent or guardian with you, and legally you both will have to show a form of I.D., the minors I.D. must be a picture I.D. however it does not have to have your birth date on it.
