The school board says not to let your child stay home unless he/she has a fever. I would let him stay home considering if a child is sick, they won't be able to concentrate very well. Also the school would most likely send him home anyway. To put it in father terms: DON'T SEND HIM!

You can get mono from anyone. It is like any other virus. Chances are you've probably already had mono while you were a child and don't remember it, so the likelihood of you getting it is low.
There is nothing that says that you cant go outside when you have mono, that is just a myth. When you have mono, all you need to do is get plenty of rest, and be careful not to rupture your spleen.
