A gas exchange (also called difusion) occurs between the alveoli of the lungs and the surrounding capillaries. The alveoli give oxygen into the bloodstream to be transported to the heart while the capillaries give the alveoli carbon dioxide to be removed from the body by exhalation (breathing out).

Afterwards capillaries give nutrients and oxygen to all the cells of the body whilst taking out wastes to later be removed from the body.

Hope this helped.

What type of blood vessel lets gases and food move in and of the blood?

All blood vessels allow gases, such as oxygen and nitrogen, as well as liquids, enzymes, etc, to pass through them. Food particles, once absorbed by the small intestines, become part of this process.

How are oxygen and nutrients passed to cells?

Capillaries allow Glucose and oxygen to move out of the blood in the capillaries into interstitial fluid and into the cells. Fluid is exchanged between capillary blood and interstitial fluid.

What is the function of the capillaries in the human circulatory system?

The function of the capillaries in the circulatory system is to allow diffusion of wastes, oxygen, and nutrients to the tissues. The rest of the circulatory system is designed to move the blood to the capillaries so they can perform this function.

What is the role of capillaries in the digestive system?

to move nutrients to the individual cells of the body

What blood vessel allow diffusion?

The capillaries allow diffusion of nutrients, waste, and oxygen through their walls, which are one cell thick. This diffusion allows transportation of nutrients and waste materials throughout the body.

How does villi help nutrients move into the blood?

by covering alot of surface area the capillaries help absorb nutrients and transfer them into the blood

Method the circulatory system uses to move nutrients into cells?

diffusion using capillaries and tissue fluid

What are the advantages of having very thin and highly branched capillaries for blood flow?

Easy exchange of gases They can reach smaller parts Easy diffusion Easy blood flow Easy exchange of material.....

How do oxygen food nutrients and waste exchange in the capillaries?

Pure diffusion ... everything flows from high concentration toward low. No energy is expended in these exchanges.

How do glucose molecules move from the capillary into the cells?

GLUT transporters allow glucose to move down its concentration gradient in the capillaries to the cells where it is needed.

Why does blood move faster through your capillaries?

Blood does not move faster through the capillaries. Blood flow is slowest in the capillaries.
