Turn on your headlights and try to start the car. If they don't come on at all or go out when you turn the key, you probably need your battery recharged or replaced. If they don't dim at all, you should check your starter relay and ignition switch. If your lights dim about halfway but the engine is not turning over, check your battery cables, connections, and starter.
Your alternater may be the problem. When you make a turn, you use the power steering which draws power from your engine. As you turn your steering wheel and engage the power steering pump, your engine will slow slightly. When it slows, it also slows down the belts on the engine which drive the generator/alternater on your car. This will produce less electricity to your system and your lights may dim. This may/may not need to be repaired.
