Check to see if it has a LOCAL/DISTANCE switch. Take it off the LOCAL setting.

Our 2003 Lincoln Town Car is losing ALL functions but displays "phone" and operates the motor controlling the CD tray. Occasionally the radio spontaneously turns on and then stops again. The AM side seems not to work well when this happens. We installed a replacement and the same thing seems to happen. There's supposed to be a module in the trunk to control the radio but not in ours. l
check your grounds both the primary ground to the radio as well as the speaker grounds. also check to see how the unit is powered...if it is spliced off of another component ie. the wipers or the cig lighter it will cause interferance

My 1995 town car horn does not work, sometimes it work one times when I start the car. I have a 1994 Town car and my horn and cruise only work when the adjustable steering column is in the lowest setting. Haven't figured it out yet.
