As to the misfire:
Check all the tune up stuff first:
- Spark plugs
- Wires
- Check for diagnostic codes on the computer, usually a misfire will set a code, and have some one check the MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow Sensor) to see if it calibrated correctly, they will need a good scan tool that can see the sensor reading as it works and the specified test procedure from the manual. Notorious failure point for these engines. Two and counting on mine in 50,000 km
Finally if every thing else is good you may have bad ignition coil or ignition module, both are notorious failures for this system.
