i have a 2002 Infiniti I35. Never had problems before. while driving I wasnt able to excelerate. i turned the car off for about an hour since then it has been unable to start without a jumpstart

Sounds like the battery and or the charging system has failed. Jump start it once more and drive it to your local auto parts store. They can test the battery and the charging system for you at no cost.
