The celebration of 'Idul Adha takes place a day after wukuf, the day when Muslim pilgrims gather on the plain of Arafat near Mecca, for part of their Hajj rituals. This occurs on the 10th day of Zulhijjah (the twelfth month in the Islamic calendar). 'Idul Adha is also known as Celebration of the Sacrifice when Muslims worldwide offer sacrifices in the form of animals, the meat of which is given away to the poor and needy and friends and neighbours.'Idul Fitr on the other hand is celebrated on the 1st day of Syawal (the 10th month in the Islamic calendar), immediately after the end of the Ramadhan fasting month (the 9th month in the Islamic calendar). 'Idul Fitr is normally associated with joy and thankfulness to Allah to mark the end of one month of abstinence from food, water and other pleasure during one month of fasting in Ramadhan.
Sure. If the moon was not visible, it is night Idul Fitri. At night, echoes resound Takbir, and the next day Eid prayer. Muslims always celebrate it every year.
Muslims worship only Allah (God in English); same God in Christianity and Judaism; the one and only one God with no partner, no son, no father, no companion, no associate, and no equivalence. However, the Muslim leader during praying (salah) is called Imam. Imam (ee-maam). He leads the prayer in an organized manner. Usually male, though can be female (in a congregation of females).
'Idul Adha will be celebrated on Monday, 8 December 2008, ot thereabout (depending on the sighting the Adha moon), that is a day after the mass assembly of Hajj pilgrims around Mount Arafah, just outside Mecca.
