Tybalt was belligerent, as he shows in his desire to fight Romeo rather than enjoy the party. He uses a supposed pride of family to justify this, although it is not really his family at all, but rather his cousin's husband's family. It's a good excuse for him to exercise his "punto reverso" and become "the very butcher of a silk button."
