your child may be very ill after eating dog poop!!!
if your dog is on a leash when it eats that yukky poop,pull your dog back and tell him "leave it" with a firm voice. if that doesn't work, get infront of your dog (don't step in the poop!) and snap your finger at your dogs mouth. Do not get your hand to close to your dogs mouth! Your dog might have a much more different response
YES. Especially if it's other dogs poop. (we don't know how) but our family dog recently came back from the vet with the news that she has Hookworm. Its 'caught' when one dog with it passes it on to another through poop. It can also be spread if the animal "goes" on live vegetation and your dog smells or eats it. Hope the dog is ok!

Thus dog owners should not leave dog poop in public places but should collect it up and dispose of it safely. However, once decomposed dog poop (along with all animal poop) will release nutrients back into the environment that will benefit plants. So yes, dog poop will fertilize the land.
