Chinookan People are a large group of Native Americans who speak the Chinook language and have traditionally lived along the Columbia River from it's mouth to about The Dalles in Oregon. Chinookan Tribes include the Clatsop, Shoalwater Bay, Grand Round, Wasco, and Warm Springs to name a few.
The Chinook Indian Nation is made up of the five westernmost groups of Chinookan people. The Clatsop, Willapa, Lower Chinook, Kathlamet and Wahkiakum.
It is important to know that not all Chinookan people are members of the same Tribe. There are many different Tribes of Chinookan people.
