This depends on what your definition of a city is. In both German and French there is no difference between a city and a town. There are hundreds of towns and cities in Switzerland.

The largest city in Switzerland by population is Zürich, then comes Geneva (French: Genève), Basel, Bern (the capital) and Lausanne.
