It depends on your college's degree program. The basic courses are American history, world history, economics, a teaching course or two, and maybe ancient civilizations. Obviously there is more, but those are some of the most common. I am majoring in history and I was told that if you just want to teach college age, then you do not have to be certified. You just need a masters degree.

All of them. If you wanna be a teacher you need to know pretty much everything. The key ones are maths, english and the humanities (-geography, history) and also PE is you want to be a PE teacher. If you want to teach a specific subject like Music or Art or Drama or French, etc. then you need to concentrate especially hard on those subjects and need maybe a degree of some sort in them.
