* Recommendation from one of your teachers. * Recommendation from your guidance counselor. * Official High School Transcripts

* Official SAT Scores * Essay

* Application Fee (Where Applicable)

These are the things college requires. It always looks good to have recommendations. Include them in your application bundle even if the school doesn't require them. (This is once you have good remarks!)

Make sure you played a sport and contributed to your society by any social means possible. This is a HUGE deciding factor, apart from your grades!

Try not to over exaggerate in your essay by using big words or contradict yourself. DO NOT repeat yourself in your essay. Talk about achievements: academically, socially, and athletically. DO NOT focus only on academics (this is if the essay if about yourself and not a set topic). The office of admission, does not like to look into the thesaurus repeatedly! So DO NOT kill them with huge SAT type words!

Your transcript will play a huge roll in your acceptance if your SAT/ACT scores are poor. This is because the college will see that you were a consistent student throughout your high school life.

Acceptance to a four year college or university is never a guarantee. It depends on the program of study and the admission requirements of the specific school. That being said, if you take a transfer program at the community college and do well, you should not have a problem in transfer.Acceptance to a four year college or university is never a guarantee. Do you have to be exactly 18 years old to get into college?

No. Age is not generally figured into your acceptance at college.

You just got into college you are starting that college in fall 2009 you were wondering how bad must your grades be for you to get kicked out of the college before you even start attending?

If you received an acceptance letter with no conditions attached to it, then you are accepted. They are not going to come back and decline your acceptance. However, if the acceptance letter is conditional, in other words saying something to the order of, " Your acceptance is conditional upon successful completion of courses already in progress," then they can inform you that you acceptance has been invalidated.
