How did the border states line up in the war?

During the American Civil War, the border states of Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, and Missouri were quite distinct in their general commitments. Delaware was thoroughly Unionist, while Maryland leaned heavily towards the South. (Maryland remained in Union control throughout the war especially through the imprisonment of most of its secessionist leaders.) Kentucky was determined to remain neutral despite being nearly as South-inclined as it was North-inclined. Missouri proved to be a mirror-image of the nation as a whole, with its Union-sympathizers clashing violently and regularly with its Confederacy-sympathizers, at least in the early years of the war.

What war was behind or about viva la vida?

I don't know the War's name exactly but the song is about the fall of a king. This war was during the Christian Crusades or the Holy Crusades to gain power of Jerusalem with a clashing religion. Context clues"I used to rule the world" - simple enough "Now the old king is dead, long live the king" - resembles the falling of power in his monarchy. "And I discovered that my castle stands, Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand" - his monarchy was slowly crumbling beneath him and it was eminent he was going to lose his power. "Roman Calvalry choirs are singing" - Romans have taken over a city or town and are boasting of their success "Be my mirror, my sword and shield, my missionaries in a foreign field" - the king is asking for assistant and realizes he is hopeless since all of his missionaries (scouts or people who deliver messages of help) are gone away. "I know Saint Peter won't call my name" - the reason why this lyric is included because under his ruling, he has been treating others unfairly. and he believes that from his cruelty, he would not be accepted to heaven.

What type of battleships were used in World War 1?

fish torpedoesThe modern torpedo (historically called an automotive, automobile, locomotive, or fish torpedo; colloquially called "fish") is a self-propelled explosive projectile weapon, launched above or below the water surface, propelled underwater toward a target, and designed to detonate on contact with, or in proximity to, a target. The term torpedo was originally used for a variety of devices, most of which would today be called mines. From about 1900 "torpedo" has been used only for an underwater self-propelled missile. While the battleship had evolved primarily around engagements between armoured ships with large guns, the torpedo allowed torpedo boats and other lighter surface ships, submersibles, and aircraft to destroy large armored ships without the use of large-caliber guns, though sometimes at the risk of being hit by longer-range shellfire.Today's torpedoes can be divided into lightweight and heavyweight classes; and into straight-running, autonomous homers and wire-guided. They can be launched from a variety of platforms.
