both. it was a blessing because it brought advances in medicine, helped with new directions in science, gave us women's rights, and sped up transportation and communication. it was a curse because it polluted the air, took jobs from farmers (work was replaced by faster and more efficient machines), and the poor had to live in row homes that were very crowded.
