They are both written by Shackspeare, and are both tragic love stories. Romeo and Juliet killed them selves because they wanted to be together because they were so in love, and with Othello and Desdemona, someone tells Othello Desdemona is cheating on him, so he strangles her to death.

Romeo and Juliet both come from feuding families, experience forbidden love, and face opposition to their relationship. However, Romeo is impulsive and driven by emotion, while Juliet is more practical and decisive in her actions. Both characters ultimately meet tragic ends due to their circumstances.

They were both similar in that they killed themselves because they thought that the other was dead.

Juliet faked her death with a potion from Friar Lawrence, and Romeo saw her, and killed himself. Upon waking up, Juliet saw Romeo dead and killed herself.
