Work involves force and effort.Lifting a basket would be considered doing work. You put force on the basket and use effort to lift it. But, carrying a basket is not doing work.

Some information will be easy to get and some information will require a lot of investigation and maybe the need to put different things together to find the truth, like an investigator or detective. Reporters doing that kind of work can be referred to as investigative reporters.

In order to be a detective you must first work as a regular patrol officer to experience frontline policing and investigating for a number of years. Then, if the department/service sees fit, you can become a detective. As a result, you will more than likely see your fair share of blood as a frontline police officer. As a detective however; exposure will be cut considerably as the frontline police officers will be the ones doing the grunt work. HOWEVER.
