Generally this will be possible. To keep the motor energized correctly you need to keep the volts per hertz roughly at nameplate (so 7.6 volts per 1 Hz). 460/60 = 7.66 volts per hert.
I would still verify with the motor manufacturer that it is OK to use in the fashion you are planning, though.
