OK, seen this before. If you filled it with reg. gas, and you didn't get far before it died on you, drop the gas tank, drain it out completely. Then release the fuel pressure on the fuel rail, remove your old fuel filter, replace it and put diesel in your gas tank after you reinstall the tank. Try and start the truck to prime the lines and , release the fuel pressure on the fuel lines, keep priming it and releiveing it until all the gas is out of the line and check to see if you smell a strong odor of diesel coming out of the lines after priming it and relieving it if you get that, then you should be good to go. This has happend to alot of folks not paying attention to the hose they grab at the pumps. If you didn't get very far down the road, I think you are ok, Seen this before, no engine damage either. Oh, to keep priming the lines, you have to keep trying to start the truck then release the fuel pressure at the little air valve thing on the fuel rail or near the fuel filter under the hood. Just go back and forth doing this until you get diesel coming out of the engine with a pretty good odor to it, with a less regular gas smell. Make sure you change your oil too, cause you don't want that regular gas to have seeped into the engine. Good Luck. I hope this works for you.
It will do damage to a diesel engine. Drain the tank and flush the fuel lines. Do not run this engine with unleaded gasoline in the tank.
Empty your tank out, drain the fuel lines, as the gasoline will damage your diesel engine.
If the van has a diesel engine, then you MUST use diesel fuel. Unleaded gasoline will destroy a diesel engine. Diesel fuel is also used as a lubricant in a diesel engine. The use of any other fuel except diesel will result in serious damage. If you have put unleaded in your diesel, do not start or drive this vehicle until you drain the tank and change all the fuel filters. If the van has a diesel engine, then you MUST use diesel fuel. Will cause engine damage If large amount in tank car will not start or run
If the van is a diesel, then you need to get the unleaded fuel out of the tank and drain all fuel lines and change the filter. This will damage your diesel engine. If you only put a small amount, such as a couple of gallons, then just drain the tank.If the van is a diesel, then you need to get the unleaded fuel out of the tank and drain all fuel lines and change the filter. Bad things can happen, due not operate the engine until having the fuel tank drianed and clean diesel added.
When I STOP AT A STATION i GOT UNLEADED GAS BUT FOUND OUT DIESEL GAS WAS MIXED IN WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY UNLEADED TRUCK
Yes, it will destroy a diesel engine.
If the engine is a diesel use diesel fuel. If the engine is a gasoline engine use unleaded gasoline.
If gasoline is used in a diesel it will damage the engine. If diesel is used in a gasoline engine it will do no real damage as the engine will not run.
Any diesel fuel is unleaded. There are summer and winter diesel in some countries. Diesel on cars work till 400000 - 500000km if the owner takes care. On ships it may last 50 years. If you are asking about a diesel engine running on unleaded gasoline (petrol) it will only run for a manner of minutes, if at all.
Yes, putting petrol/gasoline in a diesel engine and running it will cause severe damage to the engine.
