Black holes do distort time. The closer you get to the event horizon of a black hole, the slower time goes. From the perspective of someone outside, time at the event horizon stops.

What is the best book on black holes that provides a comprehensive and engaging exploration of this fascinating astronomical phenomenon?

One highly recommended book on black holes that offers a thorough and captivating exploration of this intriguing astronomical phenomenon is "Black Holes and Time Warps: Einstein's Outrageous Legacy" by Kip S. Thorne.

How do black holes distort time?

Black holes distort time by creating a strong gravitational pull that slows down time near them. This effect, known as time dilation, occurs because the intense gravity of a black hole warps the fabric of spacetime, causing time to pass more slowly for an observer close to the black hole compared to someone farther away.

How dense are black holes and what implications does this extreme density have on the surrounding space-time?

Black holes are incredibly dense, with a mass packed into a very small volume. This extreme density causes a strong gravitational pull that warps space-time around it, leading to effects like time dilation and the bending of light.

How does a black hole suck up other planents?

Black holes are basically highly compressed massive (has lots of mass) parts of space. The large amount of mass warps the space time around the black hole which causes intense gravity that suck everything in.

Can black holes alter time?

Can black holes alter time? Probably... I mean a black hole interfears with time and space... maybe... just maybe.... we could go either to the future or back to the... past.

What is the black hole theory called?

The theory describing black holes is known as general relativity, developed by Albert Einstein. It explains how the massive gravitational force at the core of a black hole warps space and time to create a region from which not even light can escape.

Why is time warped near a black hole?

This is because the gravitational force of a black hole is so strong that it literally warps the fabric of space and time around it.

What happens to stars that are black holes?

They will remain as black holes for a long, long time.

Are time warps invented?

No

How can you use black holes to time travel?

in brief we can not do this, but in my opinion black holes can do. I mean if you run, you need to a place that change that. but if you don't move, you don't need to place, but if we could send places to black hole then we were a witnesses, that every one place that go through black hole, time was changed for that

What is bigger black holes or asteroids?

Black holes. They can be so large that they can suck up universes at a time

When can black holes be found?

At any time.
