This could be symptoms of a number of things but most of the time it may just be nothing and it will pass in a couple minutes or a couple hours. try lying down and relaxing for a while because most of the time it may be stress related. Also try to keep you're breathing regular and not panic or it will make it hurt worse.
If any other symptoms occur like shortness of breathe or coughing up blood go to the emergency room A.S.A.P (but have somebody else driving if possible)
but for right now just call your doctor and ask if this could be an underlining cause to another problem.
It can be warning signs of Heart Problem or Chest infection.
It usually means you are winded.

If your chest hurts when you breath and your head hurts as well, you should go to the emergency room. If you can not go right now, you should at least have someone around you to make sure your OK.
If your arm and/or your left side of your torso hurts, you could be having a stroke.. If you feel discomfort in your heart (or heart area of your chest), then most likely you are.
the simple answer is cause you are smoking, could be COPD, asthma, or angina <-- ie heart attack

It could be anything from benign muscle pain to a heart attack. If it hurts when you touch the area it's probably muscle pain.

If the burning is on the left side of your chest, it is your heart. If else where or all throughout your chest and it hurts to breathe this is your lungs. You could possibly have lung or heart cancer. Contact a doctor immediately for health care and precautions.
