better security meassures could have been taken. Then in 2001 we were attacked again this time using civilian aircraft hijacked in the skies. I guess it took over 50 years to realise there is something wrong with the security meassures taken or that those meassures are never hundred percet bullet proof.
There was no third strike, and no invasion.
Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at the time, was shocked and deeply angered by the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. He recognized the attack as a turning point in World War II, as it brought the United States into the conflict on the side of the Allies. Following the attack, Churchill traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with President Roosevelt and solidify their alliance against the Axis powers.
Churchill and Britain knew that Britain was saved at last.
The attack on Pearl Harbour brought the USA into WWII. The Japanses fought tenaciously, even suicidally, to protect their country from American invasion, with no sign that they would ever surrender. America had the atom bomb and felt that many American lives would be saved by using it to persuade the Japanese people that they would, in the end, be conquered and thus should surrender before they were all killed.
effects on Americans after pearl harborDue to the attack on Pearl Harbor, many things effected amercians, including destroyed boats/equipment and many deaths. The attack on Pearl Harbor also effected Americans because it lead them to join in World War 2.
Capt. Danny Walker was a fellow american who was best friends with Capt. Rafe Maccawley, They Both Loved The same woman , Nurse Lt. Evelyn Johnson, Danny was a Hero in Pearl Harbor that was part of The Japanese attack, he was ordered to bomb the Japanese with his best friend and a few other pilots flew in the revenge bombing to the Japanese, He Saved His best friend by pushing a Japanese Soldier out of the way and was shot by another two saving his best friend for all the times Rafe had saved Danny.
People in the US wanted to get revenge for Pearl Harbor. People in Great Britain breathed a sigh of relief...they knew they were saved.
Yes during the civil war to end slavery. And on December 7, 1941 when Japan attacked pearl harbor in Hawaii which saved us from the great Depression.
Was using the Atomic Bomb a good idea? Yes, it was. It ended the war and actually saved many lives. If we didn't use the bomb on the Japanese they could have killed many of our soldiers or destroyed our cities. A few good reasons to use the bomb was because it ended the war, saved many lives, and to get back for the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Using the atomic bomb in WWII was a good way the end the war. If the war didn't end, many more soldiers could have died. The number of people that died from the bomb is only a small fraction of the people that would have died if the war kept going on. According to Marston 13, around 200,000 people died and many more were injured. If the war kept going, millions of people could have died. One other reason for using the bomb was to get back for the attack on Pearl Harbor. From that attack, about 1,500 people died, and almost 200 U.S. planes were destroyed. Using the atomic bomb on them was a great way to get back at them by killing more than one hundred times as many people.
It saved countless thousands of Allied soldiers lives They would have had to invade Japan from the sea he loss of life to both sides would have been far too great using conventional methods. The Allies could not have tolerated anything less than the surrender of Japan after the unprovoked attack of Pearl Harbor. Japanese leaders refused to surrender even after a complete blockaid of all ships and conventional bombing of their industry.
Even though the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941 caused the US entry into WW2; had a WW2 not been going on, the US and Japan would have definitely been at war with each other. And US revenge would have been the number 1 reason. President FDR had alot of difficulty with the US public when he announced that Europe had to be saved first, the "Germany first policy." Germany did NOT attack the US, Japan did! And the people of the United States wanted their blood! The only reason President Franklin Delano Roosevelt went for the "Save Europe First" strategy was because of Winston Churchill's constant lobbying efforts with FDR from 1939 up through the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941.
in event of a gas attack, gas masks saved lives by filtering air so people could breath
