Many have tried but his crimes were so horrific and memorable that he is a hard act to follow. There have been many that have killed more people, and some of their crimes are 'hair-raising' to be sure. But Jack The Ripper had his own style, and he killed in a time when 'serial killer' was an unknown.
There are other killers that have borrowed the 'Ripper' title, like Gainsville FL killer Danny Rollin known as the Gainsville Ripper or Peter Sutcliff known as the Yorkshire Ripper. There is an old saying that goes something like this:If you follow someone else you are already in second place.
There will probably always be violent offenders, but Jack The Ripper is in most people's opinion the most famous of serial killers.

∙ 13y agoI believe you are talking about a 'copycat' killer. Copycats do happen occasionally, but to an experienced eye it can usually be detected. We are all individuals even when we murder. The MO (modus operandi) can be duplicated without too much trouble but not the killer's signature. It's like a fingerprint, unique to that particular person. Jack The Ripper was no exception. The Whitechapel district had no shortage of killers but the Ripper's were unlike any other crimes at that time.
