One might think that we don't really need the moon, however, it is believed that the moon shielded us from impacting asteroids over time. In addition, the moon slowed down the rotation of the earth via tidal friction and is useful for many creatures to live at night.

What would happen to man if he lives on moon?

Without a protective suit you could live up to 10 seconds! If you continued to stay without pressurization you could live for 90 seconds. Another problem with being on the moon is temperature. It is -184.44 degrees on the dark side and about 184.44 on the bright side. Any way, its not to great to live on the moon.
