You cannot put a black kuhli loach in a 5 gallon tank at all, they need a 10 gallon tank at the very least. The maximum size that this loach gets is about 4-5 inches, so a 5 gallon is out of the question. As far as I have read, the black kuhli loaches like to be in schools of about 3-4, and you wouldn't want to have them alone, since the are community fish, they can go with platies, most tetra's, mollies, swordtail's, and small plecos. they just can't be alone or with fish bigger than them that will eat them.

The long answer is, you should never house different species of reptiles together, as they may transmit disease or parasites to one another that the other has no immunity to. Additionally, they may compete over resources, or fight, which is stressful. Reptiles do not want to have companions in their enclosure, so do not do it. In this particular case, I believe that the flying gecko would eventually try to make a meal of the grass lizard (or at least, eat its tail).

Though you could do semi aggressive barbs such as tiger, green and so forth. Or you could do a couple of killifish who are very colorful and many tpes don't exceed 3 to 4 inches full grown. This all I can think of off the top of my head.
What should you do about your overstocked tank?
I have an 8 gallon tank, first time owner, and didn't do enough research when buying it. I have 30 neon tetras 5 lemon tetras, 2 guppies, 3 Kuhli loach and one crowntail betta. I've seen online similar situations, and people saying that they'll choke, and get aggressive and whatnot, but they all seem to get a long fine, it doesn't LOOK overcrowded, as it's a fairly tall tank. It's been planted and whatnot, and it's got a good filter. They're all living fairly peacefully, but it seems to be quite a big deal online. I'd like to avoid abuse, I understand that this is a big deal, and it was a mistake on my behalf.
