The Trojan War was believed to be a complete myth since it was based on myth itself. But, somebody, (I forget who), found one single remnant (or something or other) which le dto the discovery of the rest of Troy. Troy was also believed to be under several other cities built on top of it after they collapsed. As for your question, Troy was believed to be on the north-western coast of Turkey. If you are referring to any war like the story of the Trojan War, then it could be anywhere.
