yes, a current of air forced backwards causes the air craft to move.
You're probably referring to the term "slipstream", which is sometimes used synonymously with "prop wash".
Being forced backwards by an enemy.

A forced landing is any unplanned landing. They are typically caused by fuel starvation or a mechanical problem. A forced landing is different than a crash because there should be minimal damage to the aircraft.

A propeller on a submarine (which is called a screw, by the way) works to convert the rotational energy of the shaft into propulsion. The screw is a hydrofoil with blades attached to a heavy central hub or boss. The blades are inclined to the plane of rotation. For forward motion, the screw rotates in a given direction, and the leading edge of the screw "bites" into the water ahead of the plane of rotation. This has the effect of pushing water backwards. The rest of the blade follows along and continues to push the water backward. When water is forced back, the submarine is forced forward, and this is a play out of the action-reaction chapter in a physics book. A link can be found below for more information, and you can see a diagram or two, which will help greatly.
A shark can be drowned if towed backwards by the tail. Water is forced the wrong way through the gills, making the shark unable to breathe - thus drowning it. How you set about pulling the shark backwards is entirely up to you...!
Well....head rests help prevent a persons head from being forced backwards and thus decreasing whiplash
The direction in which a current-carrying wire is forced in a magnetic field is perpendicular to both the direction of the current and the magnetic field according to Fleming's left-hand rule. Moving charges are also forced in a direction perpendicular to both the direction of their motion and the magnetic field according to the Lorentz force equation.
Migration is usually a choice but can be forced on people or animals if their current habitat has been destroyed and the move is out of necessity.
