The number one cylinder on all of the 4.3 engines is on the front drivers side. The distributor cap location on 1987 and earlier is front passenger and on 1988 and later is front driver. The number one cylinder on the 2.8 is on the passengers side and the distributor cap location is front passenger. The firing order on the 2.8 is 1-2-3-4-5-6 The firing order on the 4.3 is 1-6-5-4-3-2
