Possibly your Composite Video (Yellow) is plugged into the (Green) component video port. If it is a shared composite/component TV like Sony and Samsung, you will need to go in the Menus and select which Input you would like to use.

Probably bacause another image is in Grayscale Mode. Image you try to drag and drop must much Color Mode of another image so it is converted on the fly to Grayscale (Black and White). To change Color Mode go to Image > Mode > choose RGB.

Yes, but you won't get colors such as blue or yellow. You will receive a color image of black and white. Your image never had color. Take a new picture in color and you will not have black and white. If you're good with photoshop (or something similar), you can use that to add color that wasn't there before. But that is difficult.

There is no real difference between a white background or a white background. I would think the black background will show a image that is mostly white will show a lot better then the white background.
