yes, sell by date is just the date a store should sell it so the consumer has time to eat it without it expiring, even 2 days after expiration date, its not always bad, that's just an estimate of when it will expire
If it has been handled and stored properly, it is probably OK. But don't plan on keeping it much longer than that.
For best quality, it should be used within a couple days.
Yes. Nobody serves raw crab.
Cooked.
I belive a few days but, I can't tell you for sure. I would say 2-4 days.
Yes, the crab stick, as it is commonly known, is made from surimi, which is cured. Within the curing process this is all cooked.
3-5 days if refrigerated shortly after cooking
They do not always come fully cooked. Sometimes they come fully alive, attached to the crab. The reason they are offered fully cooked is so that people who want to eat them don't have to cook them at home -- crab legs can be hard to cook if you don't have the right hardware.
Stone crab legs should be consumed within two days of being stored in the refrigerator. They will, however, keep frozen.
No. But it will keep better if it is. This can kill any bacteria that may spread to other foods before the crab is cooked. If you are careful, either way works fine.
Crabs has protein. In every 100g of blue crab (canned, raw, or cooked), it has 18g protein. Highest protein number is with queen crab (cooked) with 24g protein per 100g.
Cooked crabs could keep up to two days in the refrigerator. That will depend on how fresh the crab was when cooked, how quickly the crab was cooled and refrigerated after cooking and how well the refrigerator maintains temperature. Make sure to use the coldest spot in the refrigerator (usually the bottom and not the top shelf).
Yes they will be cooked to some extent during the canning process.
