My opinion is that it should be manditory because if they kill some one they should be killed. As the saying goes "Treat others the way you want to be Treated". The price for a life is a life. Specially if they kill a child or baby that could never be forgiven. I know in The Bible it says you should forgive and forget, but killing some one's pride and joy could never be forgiven or forgotten.

Why should the death penalty be stopped?

Some people believe that the death penalty should be stopped. This is a give or take issue. An issue with having the death penalty, is being killed when you haven't actually done the crime, which in this day and age, dosen't happen a lot, but when it does is trauma and a name for that person. The death penalty would be good, for people that have done extreme crimes, such as murder, rapings and other misfits of judgements, but also for those who have been wrongly accused this could be a problem.

How does death penalty condemn the innocent to die?

The death penalty is the death penalty. It condemns no one. It is a legitimate judicial act of the State. On the other hand, juries condemn people. Juries are part of the judicial system. Juries react to evidence and lawyers' pleadings and questionings, an arguably subjective process. Innocent people die because the judicial system is not perfect and juries and district attorneys and public defenders are fallible. Whenever people are in the loop, there will be errors. On the other hand, there are some people in our society who take lives, commit unspeakable crimes, and need to be held accountable for them. It is for them that the death penalty is reserved, and for whom it is highly appropriate.
