To summarize, we can put it this way
On the side of God, there is "Grace"
On the side of people, these are required "Faith & Obey"
God and people must work together. It doesn't work when God gives Grace, but we don't have faith and don't obey. Then , WE don't get Salvation (not GOD don't get Salvation)
Christ Died On The Cross For Our Sins and was resurrected and ascended into Heaven. Christians believe that Jesus is our Savior. John 3:16 says that for God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved! Have you asked Jesus to come into your heart and save you?
The major tenet of the Christian faith is what Paul and Silas said to the Philippian jailer - in Acts 16.31:
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house
Every living thing is intrinsically valuable and should be respected
It means the most important beliefs of, in this case, Buddhism. Buddhism isn't really about "beliefs" it's about insights into the way the world works that you can see for yourself, but you do have to take a little step on "faith" to test its tenets and try them for yourself. The Four Noble Truths are probably the most basic tenets: That every being that can suffer does suffer at some point and in some ways, that we humans cause our own suffering, that the cause of our suffering is clinging (to a wide variety of things, most notably mistaken beliefs), and that the practice described by the Buddha (known as the 8-fold path) is the way to end the clinging and therefore the suffering. Other major tenets of Buddhism is that all things are interrelated = nothing stands alone; and that nothing lasts forever.
There are thousands of them. The Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_denominations lists some of major denominations.
John Calvin did not have a major teaching you could pin down in a few words. Luther emphasized grace, faith, and scripture. Calvin wrote a broad theology. Anyone who tries to summarize Calvinism in a few short words throws out the baby with the bath.
their are only one major branch which is called the Baha'i world faith
The Baha'i Faith, founded in 1844.
Faith Obedience Love
desire leads to suffering and to have faith.
Poverty, corruption and lack of faith in Allah.
A religious truth would be a religious statement of fact. ________________ You may call me a nit-picker; I have been called worse. A religious truth would probably be best described as a tenet of faith rather than a religious fact. Religion is a set of practices associated with a given faith or a faith community. The tenets, doctrines or dogmas underpinning the practices of a faith-based fellowship are, or should be, based on a faith approach to the major questions in life and not centered in matters of practice, many of which might change from time to time, or after long periods of time. It might be possible to come to agreement on a definition of the term "religious truth", but it is very unlikely that there will ever be complete agreement on what those truths would be.
In faith and trust. There was no snow this year.
