A Mutation is helpful if it helps the Mutated survive more readily in the wild. If a hummingbird needs a longer beak because a flower is long, then it mutates over generationsd to accomidate the problem

Most people would say mutagens are not...

However in theory if you knew what mutagens do...

You may find a few that can improve you...

I doubt to the extent of any Marvel or DC comic book hero...

But you might be able to repair things your ancestors screwed up...

BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH ANY SORT OF MUTAGEN

Mutagenesis is important because it effects all living organisms. It can be a major factor in many human diseases (e.g. cancer). In a more constructive light, it is the driving force behind evolution and is how organisms can develop adaptations to their environments.

mutation are generally harmful. sometimes or very rarely is a mutation beneficial, but when a mutation is beneficial the mutation is passed down the generation. over a very long period of time, mutations in a population will create a new species which is adapted to its environment

A genetic mutation is helpful if it increases the chance of an organism reproducing. For example being better able to compete for resources and/or find a mate.
